REVIEW: Kokoro Sushi & Bento

After the team that work opposite me started hauling in these little bags at lunch time smelling of sweet and spicy scents, I had to go and investigate.

Kokoro Sushi & Bento is a cute little food shack styled restaurant with a canteen system and fridges stocked full of Japanese delicacies. There are currently 8 locations across the UK.

The restaurant specialises in all things tasty from sushi to sahimi. The best thing about this place for me is that not only is the food incredibly finger licking moreish, but the portions are incredibly generous. Don't be miffed by the small and medium servings! Trust me, the small serving will truly fill even the heartiest of eaters! I couldn't finish my food on both of the occasions that I visited the restaurant.
I ordered a chicken katsu curry on my first visit and a chicken teriyaki on my second  (I actually wanted the salmon teriyaki but they had ran out (BOO!) Nether the less I wasn't disappointed. The dishes are really well seasoned without the meat being overcooked or dry.
1st Visit: Chicken Katsu Curry served with white rice

2nd Visit: Chicken Teriyaki served with noodles

If your not a fan of the heavier meals, then the fridge section offers a good variety of lighter chilled bits. There's pre packaged platters of sushi and gyoza (which can be reheated) and of course a selection of drinks and other refreshments.

At between £3.95-£5.95 per pot of hot food it can be quite pricey compared to other fast food/hot food venues. However with everything in life you will get what you pay for! The food here is all freshly prepared and for me cures hunger instantly.

I'm already planning my next visit Hopefully this time I can get my hands on that salmon teriyaki- I'm expecting great things!
